These example configurations are designed to be read in sequence.
In our example you are the IT manager. Your organisation has Windows Domain workstations and servers, Debian and AIX servers and Cisco routers. We refer to these as Operating Systems. In addition you use Oracle databases and Lotus Notes.
Day to day Windows and UNIX support is carried out by your college George Busun. You have a Security and Finance department, and you work alongside Susan Scotland in Security occasionally.
